Our Story: Personal Medicine in Marylebone

PrivaDr was established in 2018 around a straightforward idea: private healthcare should give patients enough time to be heard, explain choices clearly and connect day-to-day concerns with long-term prevention. From our Harley Street setting in Marylebone, the practice has developed a range of GP, health-assessment, weight-management, hormone-health and specialist services.

The model combines accessible consultations with coordinated follow-up. A patient may come with one immediate concern, but a thoughtful review can also identify relevant family history, lifestyle pressures, medication issues or screening needs. This does not mean ordering unnecessary tests. It means deciding together which information is likely to be useful and what action may follow from it.

We also recognise the role of established NHS services. Private appointments can offer additional choice, time and convenience, but they do not replace emergency care, national screening programmes or specialist NHS pathways. Where another service is more appropriate, safe care includes saying so.

Privacy and continuity are central to the experience. Records support safer follow-up and help avoid repeating the same history at each visit. Our range of services also makes it possible to connect GP care with preventive health checks, lifestyle support and appropriate specialist referral.

Medicine is not one-size-fits-all, and no test or treatment can promise a particular outcome. Our patient-first approach means setting realistic expectations, explaining uncertainty and making decisions based on clinical need.
